Charlie (Spider) Ross graduated from Vergennes Union High School in 1955 and then went on to join the Navy to explore the world and serve his country. He later returned to Ferrisburg, where he settled down with his wife Beverly and they raised their daughter Kimberly.  Charlie became a plumber and joined the Association of Plumbers & Pipefitters union, Local 693 where he was a 35 + year member.

He is survived by his wife Beverly of Ferrisburg;  daughter Kimberly & cherished Grandaughter Chelsea of Vergennes; three sisters May Taylor of Rochester NH, Minnie Wright of Walpole NH and Cornelia Hallecks of Danbury, CT; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Charlie was a very strong man who had a soft side that only few saw.  He was an avid outdoorsman, spending many of his years hunting, fishing, boating & snowmobiling.  He often went fishing and generously distributed the fish throughout the neighborhood.   He was very proud of his 13 point deer, taking 1st place in the salmon category of the LCI derby in 1987 and most recently taking 1st place with his cherished granddaughter at the Vermont Veterans Home Fishing derby catching a 23 inch trout in 2006.   More than his love for fishing was the love that he had for his Granddaughter, who was the apple of his eye.
