Judson D. Estey

Bristol -  Judson D. Estey 56 died Saturday March 10, 2007 at his home in Bristol.

    He was born July 26, 1950 in Middlebury the son of Wyman and Geraldine (Carpenter) Estey.

    Judson is survived by his daughter, Bobbi Estey of Williston; his mother, Geraldine Estey of St. Albans; a special aunt, Isabelle Parker of Barre; several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

    A memorial service was held on Thursday March 15th at Brown McClay Funeral Home in Bristol. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Bristol. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Bristol Rescue Squad PO Box 227 Bristol, VT 05443.

ELMA T. GRANT

 

ADDISON  - Elma T. Grant, 68, died Sunday March 11, 2007 at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington surrounded by her family.

   She was born July 20, 1938 in Kearny, New Jersey the daughter of Elmer and Elizabeth (Fisher) Torrence.

   She was a member of Addison Community Baptist Church and did such duties as a coordinator for Vacation Bible Schools, superintendent of Sunday School, and a clerk.  She was past president of Addison County Extension service, member of Add-A-Pan Homemakers Group, trustee of Boy’s and Girl’s Club of Greater Vergennes, Addison Fire Department Lady’s Axillary, Girl Scout Troop Grandma, and a clerk at Addison Town Historical Society.  Elma taught English and Biology for over thirty years at Shoreham and Vergennes schools and also she was a yearbook advisor for over twenty-five years.

   Elma is survived by her husband, Howard (Buster) Grant of Addison; a son, Scott Grant, and his wife Betsy of Addison; a daughter, Jennifer Morin and husband Brian of Addison; five grandchildren, Lindsy, Kristen, Kyle, Courtney, and Hunter; a mother-in-law, Erma Grant of Addison; a sister, Elizabeth Koerner and her husband Richard of Toms River, NJ; several nieces and nephews.

   Funeral services were held on Friday March 16th at Addison Community Baptist Church.  Interment will be in Maple Cemetery in Lincoln in the spring.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Elma T. Elizabeth (Beth) Howard

 

Monkton - Elizabeth (Beth) Howard 95 died Saturday March 10 , 2007 at Vergennes Residential Care Home in Vergennes.

    She was born May 10, 1911 in Paterson, New Jersey the daughter of Jacob and Margaret Ann (Davies) Brodbeck.

    She married  Minor Howard on October 11, 1929 at Methodist Church in Midland Park, New Jersey and he predeceased her in 1976. She was a member of Midland Park, NJ Fire Auxiliary for 10 years, and Midland Park Methodist Church for 15 years. They lived in Midland Park, NJ for 45 years then they moved to Monkton, VT in 1968. She belonged to various organization such as RSVP for 26 years, Green Mt. Senior Citizens for 20 years, Monkton Florona Grange for 20 years, Homemakers for 10 years, Ladies Aide Society for 15 years, and Monkton Friends Church. Also, she was a auditor for 26 years for the town of Monkton.

    She is survived by a son, John and Mary Howard of Monkton; seven grandchildren, Charles Cairns, Thomas and Carol Cairns, Betsy and Wayne Garlick, Kathleen and Mark Kesler, Maeri Howard, John and Miwa Howard, Robert and Kristen Howard; 12 great grandchildren, Faythe, Abigail, Amy, Rachel, Nancy, Kelsey, Louis, Sydney, John, Kim, Kristen, Thomas, and Katie; two great great grandchildren, Mackenzie Rivier and Noah Weber. Predeceased by a daughter Margaret E. Cairns, and son in law Charles Cairns.

    Family would like to thank Vergennes Residential Care Home for their loving care.
