Donna Marie Gosselin

Castleton - Donna Marie (Chilson) Gosselin, 63, passed away Friday, March 2, 2007 at Starr Farm Nursing Center in Burlington, VT surrounded by her family after a brave fight with Leukemia. She was the daughter of Benjamin and Anita (Beaudoin) Chilson of Whitehall, NY.

    Donna was a homemaker and community volunteer with organizations such as Friends of Fair Haven Public Library and Fair Haven Concerned. Earlier in her life she was employed by Showcase Video of Fair Haven.

    Survivors include her five remaining children: Gail (Gosselin) Brown and husband Henry of Whitehall, NY, Donald Gosselin Jr. and wife Kim and Castleton VT, Cathy (Gosselin) Alger and husband Allen of Orwell, VT, Daniel Gosselin and wife Faith of Orwell, VT, and, Kerri Gosselin of Holiday, Florida, her sister, Linda Roberts and husband David of Poultney, VT, nine grandchildren: Jason, Marissa, Clinton and Dana Brown of Whitehall, NY, Benjamin and Bethany Alger of Orwell, VT, Adean  Bleeks of Norwich, VT, Eizabella McGowen of Holiday, Florida, Nicholas Gosselin of Orwell, VT ,and many nieces and nephews.

    Donna is predeceased by her parents and two daughters: Melissa Ann Gosselin, age nine, in 1973 and Hope Lynn Gosselin, age seven, in 1979.

    A memorial service was held at Mallory Funeral Home 4 South Park Place, Fair Haven, VT on Wednesday, March 7, 2007  for family and close friends. Celebrant was Rev. Marsh Hudson-Knapp of  the First Congregational Church of Fair Haven.  

    Memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society, VT Division, 13 Loomis St. Montpelier, VT 05602, The Friends of the Fair Haven Public Library or Fair Haven Concerned.19 Washington St. Fair Haven, VT 05743 Arrangements are under the care of Mallory Memorial, Funeral & Cremation Service,  Fair Haven, VT.

Albert “Jimmy”  Tatro Jr.

Shoreham - Albert “Jimmy” Tatro Jr. 73 died Friday March 2, 2007 at his home in Shoreham.

    He was born August 16, 1933 in Plainfield, VT the son of Albert and Ruth (Firkey) Tatro Sr.

    He served in the U.S. Airforce during the Korean Conflict. He was an avid fisherman and loved Lake Champlain. He lived in Connecticut most of his adult life, retiring to Vermont to his home on Lake Champlain with his wife Sandy and beloved feline friend Garfield and Droopy the parakeet.

    Albert is survived by his wife of 12 years, Sandra Martell Tatro; eight children, Tena Tatro Fraser and her son Brian; Tisa and her husband Doug Gurnee; Albert V Tatro III and his wife Heather and their children Dan and Laura; James Lloyd Tatro and his wife Ann and their children Matthew and Joseph; Valerie Clark and her children Clayton, Shane and Michael; Juanita and her husband Dean Dehnel and their son Dean Jr.; Christopher Tatro and his children Ryan, Mariah and Chelsea; Jeffrey and his wife Brenda and their children Brittany, Alan and Timothy; a step son, Richard and his wife Stephany and their children Alexis and Zachary; a sister, Joyce Munson and her four children, Robert Munson, Kathy Jackson and her daughter Terra; Lisa Sanchez and her three children, Courtney, and Lynn Harvey and Carsen Sanchez; Roger “Scott” Munson and his wife Patsy and their four children, Renee, Kayla, Matthew, and Brittany.

    Friends called at Brown McClay Funeral Home in Bristol on Monday March 5, 2007. In a lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Middlebury Volunteer Ambulance 19 Elm Street Middlebury, VT 05753.

KEITH L. BESAW

 

STARKSBORO - Keith L. Besaw, 91 died peacefully, Sunday March 4, 2007 in Eden Park Nursing Home in Rutland.

     He was born in Bristol, at home, on Sept. 20, 1915, the son of the late Oliver and Grace (Hanson) Besaw.

     He married Ruth (Shepard) Besaw, on October 16, 1935 in Monkton, she predeceased him in 1994.

     He owned and operated a dairy farmer for 30 years in Starksboro, worked for Whitcomb Paving Co. and Curan & Lavoie Construction in his later years. He was involved in various town positions in Starksboro.

     He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Starksboro.

     Keith is survived by his son Roger and his wife Shari Besaw of Maine; his daughter Janet & husband David Russell of Starksboro; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; a sister Ina and her husband Mike Mallow of Williston; a brother, Wade and his wife Lorraine Besaw of Burlington; a brother in law Wayne Hill of Starksboro several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his brother Ken Besaw, his sister Bea Hill and a great grandchild Cody Besaw.

     A special thank you to the Nurses & Staff for the love and care at the Eden Nursing Home and to Dr. Rosmus of Rutland.

     Funeral services were celebrated on Saturday March 10th at the First Baptist Church of Starksboro. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Bristol in the spring. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church in Starksboro Attn. Mrs. Cathy O’Neil, 1709 Big Hollow Rd., Starksboro, VT 05487.
