Tigers and Essex 2006 Tigers Stop Essex 21-7
By Mike Cameron
Middlebury and Essex...need we say more?  These two have been providing high school football fans with spectacular entertainment for well over 30 years.
From regular season struggles to playoff encounters, to Vermont State Championships, the Middlebury and Essex High School football programs have mirrored consistent quality coaching,  great kids who love the game and community support that is just as strong now as it was years ago.
Through the glory years and the lean years, Middlebury vs Essex is always an interesting and exciting battle.  This year would be no exception.

Vergennes Commodores
By Alexandra Larrow

Friday October 13th, the Vergennes girls played Lamoille. The game was anything but unlucky for the Commodores. In the first half, both teams battled strong winds and tough defense.

More than a few shots were blown off course by the chill winds, but the teams fought through. The score at the end of the half was 0-0. In the second half, Vergennes junior Abby Benton scored the first and only goal of the game.

The final score was 1-0, Commodores. This ws the last regular season home game for Vergennes. They will be losing 6 seniors next year. They are, Mandy Scott, Heather Paquette, Bridgette Bolduc, Elizabeth "Cheeze" Goyette, Danielle McClay, and Sophie Larson. They have contributed so much over their high school careers, and will be sorely missed next year.
