A Trio of Eagles for Troop #539

    Even people with only limited knowledge of scouting know that to attain the honor of Eagle Scout is a accomplishment unsurpassed in the organization.
    The designation doesn't come easy and requires years of dedication and loyalty.  “Be Prepared”, the Boy Scout Motto is never more evident than when a scout earns the designation of Eagle Scout.
    On November 18th 2007, Boy Scout Troop #539 in Vergennes saw three of its own receive the coveted award.
    Benjamin Osicky, Kyle Pixley and John Slocum were recognized in front of peers, family and friends as Eagle Scouts before the Eagle Court of Honor.

Vt. Beads and Fibers Has New Owners

   LtoR: Suzanna Baker and Grace Kavanauh share plenty of enthusiasm and excitement as the new owners of Vermont Beads and Fiber in downtown Middlebury.The new owners will offer a variety of classes and Wednesday night will feature a Knit Social.  They also plan to expand and create surroundings and an interior décor that will feel like one's own living room.Bead Crochet, Felting, Knotting, Wire Crochet, Re-Stringing Pearls and other craft disciplines are available.  The ladies will also finish that unfinished sweater that you just couldn't find the time to finish yourself.  Silver and gold repairs are available.  Suzanna and Grace welcome your suggestions and look forward to meeting you during the up-coming Holiday Shopping Season.  They will be open 7 days a week until Christmas.  [ more ]

Art on Main Invites Community to View Holiday Featured Artist Exhibit

   Over the River & Through the Woods showcases paintings by Reed A Prescott III, Lincoln and Vermont Hardwood Pens by Jim Cunningham, Bristol
   Bristol Art on Main announces its Holiday 2007 Featured Artist Exhibit Over the River & Through the Woods. The exhibit features paintings & prints by Lincoln artist Reed A Prescott III and turned wood pens by Bristol woodworker Jim Cunningham. The community is invited to meet the artists at a celebratory reception on Friday November 30 from 5-7pm in the Gallery at 25 Main Street, Bristol. Both artists will be on hand and refreshments will be served. The Gallery will be open until 8pm that evening.
