Karen Taylor has been involved in fire services and emergency services for over twenty-five years. What started as a decision to take a CPR course morphed into a career of serving others.

Growing up many of us had a favorite toy we played with over time as part of our daily rituals. Some of these beloved childhood partners survived to be passed on to our children and many simply almost disintegrated from use. If we look back at images of our childhood this toy was often in the picture in our arms and a part of play and dreaming. In the world of modern disposable toys it is often easier to go out and replace the toy with a new one than deal with repair, renovation or rejuvenation of the old one. While most of Addison County was glued to their television sets seeing whether Tom Brady could pull out a fourth quarter win and take his team to their 10th Super Bowl, some other young ladies were working towards dreams of their own. Cheerleading is in the blood in ANWD and for generations there has been a reason to cheer! Like any other successful sports program, the answer to where the state champions of the future come from is very simple. They start young and they simply love what they do.  [ more ]
