Listenting to Jason Van De Weert explain the origins of the Addison County Benefit Truck & Tractor Pull is both heart wrenching and heart warming at the same time. It was 1999 and his father, Ken “Zeke” Van De Weert had been diagnosed with ALS also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. A family friend and local daycare provider asked Ken one day if he had a wish or dream for his family. Ken’s response was that he wanted to take a cross county family vacation before he passed away.

It was 1969 when Lee Kayhart crossed the border into the Green Mountain State and brought his family to live on a farm in Vergennes, where they lived until 1979. Tigers Stun Sea Horses in Burlington 19-14

The Tigers were burned on the opening kick-off as Ryan Mitchel romped 80-yards to the 12 and Kevin Garrison scampered in for the first touchdown of the game. The P.A.T. was missed and BHS was up 6-0 in the first minute of the contest.  It was gut-check time for the Tigers and they responded with a calm and determined aggressiveness on both sides of the ball.
