Biking To Help Others Meet Lisa Campbell

While Lisa Campbell has been riding a bicycle since she was ‘knee-high to a grasshopper’ she never considered it more than fun transportation until the past couple of years. Lisa grew up in Addison County in the generation that rode bikes pretty much everywhere. Campbell can remember bicycling to friends’ homes, the swimming pool and a party or two that she should not have been at while growing up. It is now in her later life that riding her bike has become more than just exercise and enjoyment. For Campbell, it is a way to give back and help out.  [ more ]

Addison Central School District Honors Teachers Of The Year

When talking with teachers who have been selected by their peers to be honored as Teachers of the Year, there is a common thread of inspiration, perspiration and exultation. In their lives they have received encouragement, have a steadfast belief in their abilities and supportive professionals. In return, they chose education as a way to give back and help young people find lifelong learning skills and a passion to pursue their dreams. When Addison Central District began its school year, they announced the 2017 Teachers of the Year were Jennifer Billings, a Middle School Math Teacher at Middlebury Union Middle School and Julie Schondube, a kindergarten teacher at Mary Hogan.  [ more ]

Saint J. Hilltoppers Take 9-7 Nail Biter at Doc Collins

The two teams have become rivals in recent years with the Tigers having the better of it. Saint Johnsbury Academy was riding an impressive two game win streak hoping to make it three. The Tigers were back home at Doc Collins at one win and one loss . An impressive win against Cholchester and a disappointing loss at Hartford were in the book for the Tigers.
