Wild Tails Captures Stories of Wildlife Rehabilitation

Growing up in Ripton, Mickey lived on a family farm and wandered the mountains of the area deer hunting and picking blueberries. Living a life which he called, “poor in money and rich in everything else,” Mickey, his two brothers and sister learned a great deal about the habits and habitats of animals.  “From my grandparents and parents, I learned to respect all different animals,” explained Mickey. “We hunted to eat and not for sport and nature gave us what we needed to live. My father was one of nine brothers and sisters and the land and the animals provided what we ate.”

Vermont’s New Arena Football Team To Kick off Its Inaugural Game

Professional Arena football is making its presence known in Vermont in a big way. The Vermont Bucks football team will begin its first season with its inaugural game on St. Patrick’s Day, Friday March 17th at the Gutterson Field House in Burlington. The Vermont Bucks will be playing seven regular home games during the season and hosting one scheduled playoff game in early June and plan to win it all and bring Professional Arena football to a high level in the state and region.

High School Senior Earns Appointment To United States Naval Academy

Rutland High School Senior Ben Howard became interested in being an aviator at a very young age. His parents introduced him to a two parents and their children. Both parents were former military pilots and later flew commercial planes for Southwest Airlines. During his sophomore year of high school cadet Chris LeFrancois from the U.S. Naval Academy came to Rutland High School to speak. LeFrancois is a former RHS student who met with Howard and a path was set.
