It’s Apple Picking Time At Douglas Orchards

Just around the bend at 1050 Route 74 West in Shoreham, Vermont some of the best traditions of Addison County past and present come together. In addition to the mums, pumpkins and scarecrows that dot the countryside heralding the beginning of fall, rows of apple trees at the Douglas Orchard confirm the sweetness of the time of year and harvest season. The family has been on the land since 1898 and in the business of producing some of Addison County’s sweetest and tart apples and delicious cider.

Tigers Overpower So. Burlington Rebels 42-3 Essex Next

It has been a difficult season for the Rebels and the coaching staff of head coach Joe McDonald.  South Burlington gridders, one of Vermont's most celebrated high school football programs over the decades, have not had much to celebrate in 2016.  The Rebels were 0-4 going in and set to host the visiting Tigers of Middlebury for a 7 p.m. Friday night lights kickoff in Chittenden County.
