Vermont farmers are not the only ones involved in an evolution or revolution of sorts. The creation of the Internet and the World Wide Web is bringing the talents of Vermont artists to new audiences and venues. Once a part time vocation many artists are now finding ways to link to larger markets and turn their passion for art into their own business. One of these new art entrepreneurs is Addison County resident Allyson Kilbride.

Celebrating A Birthday And Honoring A Generation

Vergennes resident May Fay turned ninety years old and on Sunday, November 3, 2013 and a community and two families came together to honor her.  On the surface the gathering at first glance had all the trappings of a wonderful birthday celebration with balloons, cake, loved ones, young great-grandchildren running about and a slide show of May’s life. There were speeches, jokes, laughter and the simple joy of being together and honoring a ninety year old that has no plans on slowing down anytime soon.

Tigers D1 Vt. State High School Football Champions 26-6 Over SBHS

Dennis Smith's Tigers were ready as were the Rebels of South Burlington coached by Joe McDonald.  The game would feature some fireworks on both offense and defense.  Middlebury played almost error free football for most of the season.  The Rebels had some key turnovers the last time these two got together and the Tigers took advantage of every single one of them both with time of possession and points on the board.

Addison County Graduate & Fashion Designer To Appear On Television Show

On Friday, November 8th those Vermonters tuning in to watch Rihanna’s Styled to Rock on the BRAVO network will see a familiar face. Premiering on Friday, November 8th at 8 p.m., the competition will feature twelve talented designers selected out of a talented pool who applied to be on the show. In its first season, the show brings to television twelve designers handpicked by Rihanna to design each week for mega-stars.  The show will pit designer against designer and offer a $ 100,000 cash prize as well as a fashion feature in Glamour Magazine.
