Hendy Bros Merges with Giroux to become Mountain View Equipment, LLC

   There is the old saying that ‘there is strength in numbers’ and that ‘the work is lightened by having many hands.’ The recent merger of two John Deere dealerships into one not only makes perfect sense, but offers customers the expertise of Mike Hendy, Judy Austin, Scott Bair, Andy Giroux, and the staffs.  both businesses will be  under the new name  Mountain View Equipment, LLC.

Teens Deliver Orations on the U.S. Constitution

   On Saturday, January 28th, American Legion Post # 14 held its local round of the American Legion Oratorical Competition and three VUHS teens competed. Sharing their viewpoints on the First Amendment, Separation of Church and State, and Amendment 13 were VUHS sophomores Stephanie Anderson, Emilee Trudo, and VUHS junior Casey Lynn Brinkman. Each teen delivered an 8-10 minute prepared oration on the US Constitution and spoke with no notes and no sound system.        [ more ]

  Just the other day one local old timer was heard at the local corner store to say, “The more things change the more they stay the same.” In the case of our local firefighters and fire departments, the level of commitment, dedication and caring has always been a given, but the training, equipment and procedures have changed through the years. As the Valley Voice celebrates our local fire departments, examine the history, continuity and change that is a part of the fabric of life in Addison County, you are invited along to read the results of a Question and Answer session involving Vergennes, Bristol, and Ferrisburgh Fire Departments.
