Turning A Passion Into A Career Talking About Art With John Burns

    Many Americans are talented individuals who have placed their talents in the category of a hobby. They quite reasonably talk themselves out of pursuing it as a career only to find their lives crossing paths with their passions repeatedly until a change is warranted. Case in point, John Burns! John first fell in love with art and drawing when he was in junior high school at MacArthur High School in Hollywood, Florida. He saw posters that advertised movies and music concerts and he was hooked.

Sharing Memories With Educator Diana Cotter

   Diana Cotter is a former educator, who originally came to Vermont in 1959 to attend Middlebury College.  During her junior year, she remembers a spectacular autumn day vividly, standing on the 4th floor of the Pearson’s building looking out on an October morning over the Green mountains, wishing she could live here forever.   Diana left following graduation to Los Angeles.  She taught primary education for 50 years, and was a curriculum designer for the Los Angeles Unified School District.  She worked in The Support Network helping teachers become nationally board certified.   [ more ]

Tigers Take On Redhawks

   Home-field advantage in the Vermont high school D-I football quarterfinals was on the line as Champlain Valley Union hosted Middlebury on a cool autumn afternoon.  Middlebury had their eyes on the prize as the third seed, which they succeeded in attaining with a 27-21 victory over the Redhawks.  Call it an echo of last year’s win where the Tigers won 27-6 over CVU on Doc Collins’ field.
