Vergennes Police Department Honors Evening Establishes Tradition

   The crowd assembled at the Vergennes Fire Department on Tuesday, January 25th represented all branches of the law enforcement community, their families and the civic organizations that interface with the police on a daily basis. They came together to begin a tradition honoring not only the Vergennes Police Department, but the connection among the VPD, their families and those supporting the goals and actions of the law enforcement officers.

An Enduring Partnership

   Vergennes Masonic Association ( Dorchester Lodge I) & Vergennes Boys and Girls Club are a strong community partnership that go back several years. After the Masonic Organization purchased the Oddfellows building approximately six years ago, the organization opened its doors to be the site for the younger children involved in the many programs of the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Vergennes. Sight director Deb Hall appreciates not only the reduced rate of rent that the club receives, but was so excited to receive the Masonic Organization’s latest donation of toys, games, paper, art supplies and other program necessities for the young people who daily come to play and learn at the Boys & Girls Club.  [ more ]

British Pianist Paul Lewis Begins Schubert Piano Cycle February 15

    Widely celebrated for his considered and profound interpretations of the classical repertoire, Paul Lewis is recognized internationally as one of today’s most distinctive and poetic pianists. He will perform Schubert’s Sonata no.15 in C, “Drei Klavierstücke,” and Sonata no.17 in D on Tuesday February 15th at 7:30 P.M., in the Mahaney Center for the Arts’ Concert Hall at Middlebury College.  [ more ]
