   Middlebury won in Bennington.  Milton lost at Rice Memorial.  The season will come down to one big regular season game and then the calculations will commence.  The Tigers chances for post season play and a shot at Colchester again seem to be alive and well.

Champlain Bridge Closure “Expected Into Winter” Options Discussed...

   A short commute has turned into a 2 to 3 hour odyssey for many fellow New Yorkers and Vermonters.  Dairy farm animals normally seldom at risk for going unattended, could be.  Travel expenses, always a factor in today’s energy troubled times have doubled and tripled because of increased mileage.  Business owners on both sides of the lake are discussing closing their doors, after suffering record daily losses and this is being called just the tip of the ice berg. Medical professionals and hospital administrators are anxious. The 80 year old Champlain Bridge connecting Addison Vermont and the Crown Point section of New York State was closed on Friday afternoon October 16th at 1:30 p.m.

Otter Creek Choral Society: Making Music a Celebration of Life

  You will hear two sounds that resonate throughout the quiet of the church entryway   as you enter the Vergennes Congregational Church at 7:00 p.m. on Monday nights, the sound of a piano and then the voice of choir conductor Ann Sullivan saying, “Pull out that note, you see what they mean. Again, sopranos, praise it with your voice.” Whether a casual observer or a music aficionado the mission of the group meeting there is evident - music is a celebration of life and the members of the Otter Creek Choral Society are there to enjoy it together.  [ more ]
